Message
When I launched the very first Welsh Woman of the Year awards fifteen years ago, I knew that we would uncover a wealth of talented women. Over the years, as the nominations have poured in, we have confirmed that our country is bursting with remarkable, enterprising and inspiring women who are contributing so much to all aspects of Welsh life – to our communities, industry, science, business, media and education.
This year, once again, we want to spread the net far and wide, in particular to reach those women whose modesty or lack of confidence prevents them from recognising their own tremendous achievements.
That’s why I am appealing not only for Welsh women to come forward and tell us their story – but for their friends and colleagues to tell us about the women they believe deserve recognition.
Let’s make Welsh Woman of the Year 2008 another bumper celebration of Welsh women and their successes!
